For Effie being tied or suspended gives her a feeling of utter inclination and self alignment. As the ropes start touching her body she enters a sub conscious space in her mind and all of her human vulnerability and emotions are evoked. She experiences surrender and through the ropes she unblocks the emotional dam. For her, being tied, is more about the journey than the destination itself and in the end she feels purified.
